The Last Film I Watched Was....
All The King's Men 2006 - The story of a semi fictional governor of Louisiana in the '50s popularly thought to be based upon the real life Huey Long. The film has a a strong cast led by Sean Penn and including Jude Law, James Gandolfini, Kate Winslett and Anthony Hopkins. Well made and concentrates heavily on the moral issues and the power game which is politics.
Worth watching.

Watch 'Zeitgeist'.
It's probably only for the older generation who are pissed off and fed up of being arse-raped by the government, but it's so relevant it's scary. Watch it as if your life depended on it. Seriously.

The Dark Knight 2008 - The latest Batman offering which is quite good. I agree with the praise heaped upon Heath Ledger for his Joker role and there are a good few faces in here including Michael Caine as Alfred, Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman. Plays heavily on the moral tale and not everything is black and white.
No Robin in sight.
I enjoyed this.

Indeed I do. I think anyone with doubts about the world generally needs to watch it. It's a real eye-opener.

Mini's First Time - 2006
Features Nikki Reed as a young manipulative girl in Hollywood who would frighten the life out of most parents, she signs up for an escort agency and finds her own stepfather ( Alec Baldwin) is her first client. Rather than decline this she fucks him and much scheming ensues. Also featuring Jeff Goldblum in a small part this film is watchable but doesn't really take you anywhere. It's probably not meant to though.
Watchable but not great.

Last new film i watched was Ghost Town, with Ricky Gervais. Quite funny in parts, but not great. Gervais was susprisingly good. Last film I watched full stop was Stigmata. Quality film. Bit weird, but can't go wrong for a supernatural thriller type film.

The Prestige 2006 - This was on our Digiturk film channel last night, these channels usually serve up very average fare but I checked this out on IMDB first where it had a whopping 8.4 rating. It's a magician thing with Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale & Michael Caine. Set at the end of the nineteenth century it has a complex plot but essentially boils down to a rivalry between 2 magicians and their respective obsessions. Plenty of twists and turns and a few unexpected surprises.
I liked it.

Outsourced 2006
Pleasant enough film about an American manager going to India to train up the staff who are taking over all his ex colleagues' jobs. Some stereotypes involved but hey where do stereotypes come from in the first place? Little love story thrown in for good measure. Not a very challenging film but some very nice moments.

I watched that the other night, incidentally. I liked it, too. Decent story and nicely filmed. I gave it a 7 on IMDb, and I'm a fussy fucker, I would have given it a 6.5 if I could, but I rounded off.
Definitely worth a watch, I agree. If not only to hear Christian Bale's cockney accent, which strangely grows on you throughout the film; like an unwanted pimple.

Interview - 2007
Directed by and starring Steve Buscemi alongside Sienna Miller this film revolves around a middle aged journo interviewing an attractive young starlet. The dialogue is clever and the acting very good. It holds the attention throughout and Buscemi, as ever, portrays his part exceptionally well. Twist in the tail too.

12 and Holding -2005
Excellent little film about revenge and 12 year old angst. Revolves around the events after the death of a twin burned to death in a tree house by 2 boys with petrol bombs. His surviving twin and 2 friends each have their own ensuing battles to fight with varying degrees of success.

Re: The Last Film I Watched Was....
No Country For Old Men -2007 I've been meaning to watch this for ages having read a great deal about it, and also read the book. I'm a big fan of Cormac McArthy and the coen brothers so I was expecting to enjoy this.
It didn't disappoint a very well made film with some excellent performances (Javier Bardem in particular). It's actually quite faithful to the book which I wasn't really expecting. Pretty obvious why it did so well at the Oscars.

Under 20? Half the starring cast aren't under 20. But there's still no good enough reason to watch shit like that.

Re: The Last Film I Watched Was....
are yes there is, 2-3 hours to kill before football, had me mates with me, only movie short enough to fit into the time slot which , only 2 other people in the cinema, and the excellent reason to watch it was easily the best, The usher was on Big Brother. Tho is does sound like a poor reason to watch the movie it was good fun to look at the 30 odd parents waiting for the next session to start, faces when my mate and I walked out of the cinema. Talking about which birds where looker and which are ugly.

Re-watched 'Sideways'. Great fun about two guys on a stag week :hugzz: in the California wine region .
My take on it, rather than 'Dumb and Dumber' was 'Smart and Smarter' - clever humour, with Paul Giamatti and Anthony Haden Church. Give it a go...
