Donny V Rovers
This will be the 19th league meeting between us and Donny with the last being as recent as the 1957-58 season... We did the double that season scoring 8 goals and conceding 3 over the 2 matches.
Out of the previous 18 matched Doncaster have won only 1 game and that was in the '51-52 season winning by 1 goal to nil. Rovers have won 11 of those 18 and the rest were obvioulsy draws.
Rovers highest score against Doncaster came in the '54-55 season with a 7-2 home win
Doncasters highest score against Rovers came in the '52-53 season with a 3-3 home draw.
Head to head wins at Doncaster..
TEAM NEWS
Striker Theo Robinson is expected to go straight into the Doncaster squad after signing from Derby, while midfielder Harry Forrester is an injury doubt.
Midfielder Dean Furman will be assessed after international duty in his native South Africa.
Blackburn will have Hull loanee Tom Cairney available, but striker DJ Campbell is out with an ankle injury.
Defender Grant Hanley should play despite taking a knock to the head for Scotland against England.
MATCH FACTS
Doncaster Rovers
• Doncaster go in search of their first points at the second attempt, 13 days after losing 3-1 at home to Blackpool.
• Rovers are looking to avoid a repeat of the outset of their last Championship campaign in 2011, when they lost the first four and took eight games to gain a first win.
• If involved from the beginning of the match, 28-year-old forward Chris Brown will be making his 200th club career start, and goalkeeper Ross Turnbull, is in line for his 100th career league appearance.
Blackburn Rovers
• Blackburn have one point and one goal to their name after two league outings.
• They were also slow starters in the season before last and needed five Premier League games to register a first win.
• The Ewood Park club have notched just one away league victory in 2013, and have completed 19 away league games without a clean sheet.

Re: Donny V Rovers
I reckon a 2-1 win to get us off the mark. I don't care how they come as long as they go past the line.

Not quite, but arse all the same.glosterrover wrote:Off of Dunns arse it is then!!!!
Poor result and surely one that should have been a 3-pointer?
The start of the Premier league makes me realise how much Rovers being out of it hurts, I have little or no interest in football now...

Re: Donny V Rovers
we were awful, we have no chance of promotion, players don't seem to be giving it their all. What changes would you all make to the team, starting lineup formation as I just don't have a clue, I saw more desire to win from Maceo Righters than these bunch of money grabbing shites
Re: Donny V Rovers
I haven't seen anything of the game so I cannot really comment on how bad we were, but we shouldn't be struggling against Doncaster (no offence to them), those are the games we should be winning.

Re: Donny V Rovers
Exactly!!! There must be more going on behind the scences! Why does Peds get a look in now? We are lacking experience in the midfield and he could do a job there, why not utilise him instead of treating him like shit!!

It seems as though he is being forced out of the club!! He is on high wages and that wont change so they may as well utilise him while they can!

Just seems stupid. They have said they wont stand in his way, fine. I just don't get why they won't put him in the team.

Re: Donny V Rovers
It just needs someone with some experience. Dunny can't play 90 mins anynore (not for a long time), so why not use Peds and Dunny on a rotation behind Rhodes. 4-4-2 is a dated formation now and we need to change it.

Re: Donny V Rovers
There is a rumour we are looking at a young winger to replace Peds but he's unproven and more than likely too lightweight....can't remember his name though
