TEAM NEWS
Carlisle striker Lee Miller begins a three-match ban after the club opted not to appeal against his sending off on Saturday.

United are also likely to be without Sean O'Hanlon, who has a knee injury.

Blackburn forward Ruben Rochina believes he will be sidelined for at least three months after dislocating his shoulder at Derby on Sunday.

The Spaniard could be replaced by Leon Best, who came off the bench to net a late equaliser at Pride Park.

MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head

•The two sides have not met since both were in the old Second Division together in 1986.
•Carlisle have won both previous League Cup meetings: 4-0 at home in October 1966, and a 2-1 third-round home triumph in 1969.

•Carlisle are vying to claim a Championship scalp for the second successive season, having beaten Ipswich in last year's second round.
•The Cumbrians were semi-finalists as a second tier club in 1969-70.
•They have progressed to the second round in six of the last seven seasons.
Blackburn

•Blackburn lost to League One opposition last season: 2-1 away to Milton Keynes in the second round.
•The 2002 winners have made at least the quarter-finals in five of the last eight years.
•However, they have been knocked out on each of the last four occasions they have played away from home in the competition.

I think people are looking in to this a little too much.

The side that was put out is no way the starting line up we would use for the league, so I think GB was getting some of the players an extra run out whilst resting some key players.

The goal this season is to get back to the golden goose, so the cups only serve as a distraction. We play enough league games in the championship without having to play extra cup games.

If/when we get back to the PL and we are back to being comfortable then the cups can be taken a little more seriously. Anyone that is really bothered about last nights result are only bothered about the ribbing they may receive at work/school.
