My mate just informed me. 67 days!!! Now can we have someone with hair?

Well if Bowyer makes Murphy captain again and puts him straight back in the team we'll know this sacking has nothing to do with the football...

Former England striker Stan Collymore has encouraged the Rao family to sell Blackburn Rovers.

The Indians, who own poultry company Venky's, sacked their third manager of the campaign this morning when they parted company with Michael Appleton after just 15 matches in charge at Ewood Park.

With that in mind, Collymore has accused the owners of "killing" the Championship club.

"Venkys. The absolute worst of football ownership. Killing a founder member, unforgivable. Get out. Go," Collymore wrote on Twitter.

Steve Kean and Henning Berg are the other manager that have been relieved of their duties since August.

Im certain he got sacked because the Venkys are huge fans of Doctor Who, they must have heard about the interview with him making comparisons with the long ball under Big Sam and the game against Millwall

Sadly, yes we are a joke. But at least people (media/pundits/other fuckbags) have now opened their eyes to what is happening at the club and can no longer claim the fans are at fault (depite what few still believe).

I think now would have been a better time to launch a Venky's out campaign...!

It seems the players aren't shedding many tears on the Appleton exit:

This was 'borrowed' from Vital Football - Blackburn Rovers:

Henrique delighted with Appleton exit
Rovers defender and Bruno Ribeiro tribute act Nuno Henrique has spoken in the press, expressing his delight at the club's recent sacking of Michael Appleton.

Henrique is yet to feature in the Rovers first team after being signed as part of the (sarcasm alert) much heralded (sarcasm alert finished) Tapas Six operation in pre-season.

But that hasn't stopped him stepping out to prove he is in fact alive and cast his own analysis on Appleton's ill-fated reign. He's also game for sticking around at Rovers for the long term... Oh goody, where elsehave we heard that this week.

'I am happy at a club that offers me all the conditions, so I want to stay at Blackburn many years.' Henrqiue told A Bola, a Portuguese publication.

'Sacking the coach was the best decision of the director, as (he) was committing many mistakes, was destroying the team.

'From the moment he got on the team, we lost our usual play and tactics. Under his guidance, the teams we faced at home were able to win, while we could not turn our game.'

Henrique was also less than complimentary in regards to the treatment of a few of his team mates explaining that Ruben Rochina and the eternally half fit Diogo Rosado were 'pushed out' and that Appleton 'failed to use' forward Nuno Gomes, who has been marginalised since the start of the season where he looked very handy.

This one (much the same) 'borrowed' from Here is the City

Portuguese defender Nuno Henrique has backed the decision of the Venkys to axe the now former Blackburn Rovers manager.

Owners of Blackburn Rovers, the Venkys, have taken a huge amount of criticism in the wake of their decision to sack their third permanent manager of the season.

Michael Appleton did not even last three months at the club, but presided over a run of seven league games without a win, as well as an FA Cup quarter-final loss to Millwall.

With Rovers sitting just four points off the relegation zone, there are those who however agree with the decision to get rid of Appleton, and one of those is defender Nuno Henrique.

Henrique, who signed last summer, has been speaking in his homeland about the dismissal, with newspaper A Bola carrying his words.

He said: "I am happy at a club that offers me all the conditions, so I want to stay at Blackburn many years.

"Sacking the coach was the best decision of the director, as (he) was committing many mistakes, was destroying the team.

"From the moment he got on the team, we lost our usual play and tactics. Under his guidance, the teams we faced at home were able to win, while we could not turn our game."

Henrique also went onto criticise Appleton for pushing away Ruben Rochina and Diego Rosado, who he felt were good talents for Rovers to exploit but were permitted to leave the club in January.

The 26-year-old also praised caretaker manager Gary Bowyer, adding that when the 41-year-old was in charge at the turn of the year, Rovers still had a chance of the play-offs despite Henning Berg's poor record previous, acknowledging they now have a relegation fight on their hands.

His words certainly present a new take on the decision. While the Venky's hire-and-fire regime is clearly not working, perhaps the decision to appoint the inexperienced Appleton in the first place was the biggest mistake they made all season.
