Re: WHO WILL IT BE...
Former Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster has applied for the vacant manager's position at Blackburn, Fortress Ewood understands.
The 52-year-old, who won La Liga with Real Madrid in 2008 before being shown the door in December of the same year, has been out of work since leaving Besiktas in March 2011. Now Schuster is keen to try his luck in England and has thrown his hat into the ring for the Blackburn job, following Steve Kean's departure from Ewood Park on Friday. As well as Real, the experienced German has also managed Spanish sides Levante, Getafe and Xerez, Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donets and Cologne in his homeland.
Blackburn will now consider whether to hand him the task of leading the club back into the Premier League, although a number of other names are also in contention, with Henrik Larsson, Alan Shearer, Tim Sherwood and current caretaker coach Eric Black all linked with the role.

Re: WHO WILL IT BE...
Schuster would be very solid but Larrson would be my pick,he has worked wonders with Landskronas and as a pupil of the Guardiola school could get us playing a good style of football at last.......having said that we won't get either of them and Black will be the new numpty in charge!!!

Re: WHO WILL IT BE...
Why are we being linked with Solskjaer?? he wouldn't go to Villa in the summer so why would he come to us??? Keane is going to Turkey supposedly so that would rule him out anyway....looks like Schuster could be the man???

Re: WHO WILL IT BE...
I think it was personalities (or lack of) with Lerner re. the Villa job. I wouldn't say I like the idea of Ole but he is one product of Utd that I never totally detested while he was there...

Re: WHO WILL IT BE...
Eric Black is not the person to take us forward.
Ole has already said no!
Keane has turned Turkey down......
As much as I would love to see Flitty and Jansen back at Ewood I feel that it would turn a tad hypocritical given that certain sections of the fans boo'd Ince from his appointment; coming from the lower leagues.
Bernie Shu has applied but nothing has been mentioned since...

Re: WHO WILL IT BE...
Love Keano as a person, but he's a crap manager.
Ole has said he's not even going to respond to media rumours.
Eric Black would suffer the same fate as Kean.
Flitcroft and Jansen is a pipe dream.
Schuster sounds a bit far off the mark.
Shearer or Sherwood? No thanks. Especially not Sherwood, he's a philistine.
Souness hasn't been mentioned yet. Surprising. I'd take Souey in a heartbeat.

And he has done nowt for years, as much as my heart tells me he would be a great choice I don't think he has was it takes any more (unless he brought in a youthful No 2 like Tugay to take over once he was done).

Re: WHO WILL IT BE...
I'm warming to the idea of Shearer. Looking back, I think it's harsh to judge his managerial career based on having 8 games to save a club who were in a very similar position to us last year - a big fucking mess all-round.

Re: WHO WILL IT BE...
In a word No,Schuster if he has indeed submitted his CV/application would be my choice any day,Dalglish is a spent force as a manager,Venkys will never appoint Tugay as long as there is Oxygen to breathe and Souness probably wouldn't return for all the tea in China, which leaves.........Eric (Attack,Attack,Attack) Black,we are officially fucked if that no mark gets the job

Re: WHO WILL IT BE...
I agree with Willy, if you have only 2 minutes to bail out a sinking ship you will fail. Shearer would be welcome back but would he be able to cope, what experience can he fall back on?

Re: WHO WILL IT BE...
So,Shebby has been on SSN saying that they will decide on a short list for the vacant managers job on thursday. These could include Ole Gunnar Solskjaer,Sven Goran Ericsson,Alan Shearer and PSG Coach Paul Clement, there have been reportedly more than 20 applications with Venkys being pleasantly surprised at the calibre of the applicants. In conclusion to this Shebby said that although they are keen to get a manager in place as soon as possible they won't be rushed,it could take one week or three weeks.

But not two weeks, that'd be ridiculous.

Didn't he leave us last year?
