Stiff Stakes
With the news of the death of Liz Taylor arriving today.
We have something going where we each chose someone and pay 1 lire a week into a kitty and the first person to have someone who snuffs it scoops the monty.
Someone's hit gold dust today as nobody in ours has turned their toes up for ages and there's nearly 1,300 lire in the pot.
For me Fidel lives on.

I'll put 20 in the pot for Ian McKellen, and 40 on Aretha Franklin popping her soulful clogs anytime soon.

I was on about his voice, not his accent. The Midlands accent isn't too bad.

Re: Stiff Stakes
The Brummie and Scouse accents are the least desirable in the UK - fact. Call centres have closed and relocated due to poor sales because people don't want a Scouse or Brummie calling them and trying to sell them something (not that they want ANYONE doing that). The most popular accents are from the north east. People say the Geordie accent is "relaxing and friendly", and sales soar when call centres relocate to Newcastle and the Tyne area.
The Burnley accent is different depending on where you come from in Burnley. Some of them are wannabe Mancs, and for some reason exaggerate the Burnleyness and add some Manc to it. Rather irritating.
