Re: Dynamo
I haven't seen the new series, but I watched the first series and thought he was fantastic.
Re: Dynamo
Yeah, he's kinda "David Blaine lite". Quite entertaining!

Re: Dynamo
Just watched the first series, onto the second now. He's really good. Some of his tricks aren't for me (mainly the card tricks...yawn), but he does some interesting and new stuff, too.

Re: Dynamo
The more I watch the more sceptical I become. Whenever he does a trick in the street or in a busy public place, there's always LOADS of people filming on mobile phones, yet there's only ONE video I can find online of a member of the public filming him, and it's 10 seconds of him "crossing" the Thames, but he's really just standing still in the video.
If more "live" video clips were available I'd be more impressed, but the whole setup with the people and the clever camera work seems a bit transparent to me. Obviously I'm not looking for him to do actual real magic (if that even exists), but it needs to be made more believable than it currently is for me to be properly impressed.
A good example of the "setup" is when he does a street trick of cutting some guy's headphone wires and then puts the wire back together. At the beginning of the trick he asks one guy "just pass me those scissors there", and the guy picks up a pair of scissors off a computer chair sitting outside a shop. Random pair of scissors, on a chair, in the middle of the street? Seems more than a little set up to me...

Yeah but I'm a romantic. I want to believe.
I've supported Rovers all these years for God's sake.
